Find Your Greatness Through Discomfort and Fear

Greatness comes in many forms. Most importantly, greatness is found within you. Greatness is one’s belief in self. Greatness is recognizing the benefit of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and into one’s greatness. Simply put, greatness is several small things done well.

What does greatness really mean?

According to Meriam-Webster Dictionary, greatness means the quality or state of being important, notable, or distinguished.

Do you fit in any of those categories? Is landing your dream job or receiving another degree classifies you as being great? All are amazing goals to accomplish in your lifetime. However, some people may never reach those milestones so does that not make them great? For me, greatness is the mother who can rise early before the birds begin to chirp to get her morning workout, return home make the kids breakfast before they even wake up. Greatness is the female executive who can schedule a last-minute Zoom call with the CEO, prepare the slide deck for the presentation and even control the audio hiccups which may occur (and they will occur) on a Zoom meeting. Greatness is an elementary school teacher who works at inner-city public schools and knows several of her students last meal was the last time they ate school lunch. Therefore, to reduce the number of hungry students in her classroom she goes to the local convenience store in her neighborhood and bring snacks for her students to nibble throughout the school day.
